I'm so thankful that Rob and the 5mindocs team have put together this project- there is nothing else like it here in Vancouver.
Participating in 5mindocs 2008 was a fantastic experience for me. I was really impressed by the other applicants films, and felt guilty walking away with the first place.
I have been a professional in Film and TV for the last decade, and I must say that I actually prefer to see the work of people who have perhaps never made a film before, but who are passionate about whats happening in the word around them- not just whats on the silver screens.
There is something amazing that can happen when we are forced to work at a faster pace than our inner critics can catch up to. Its really astounding what we are capable of, and what we never quite get around to doing. This was a chance for me to just make it happen, by hook or by crook.
I highly recommend it for anyone interested in filmmaking and positive change.
